Areas Of Expertise
Postpartum
Pregnancy can cause significant hormonal changes in the female body which can affect a woman's emotions and thinking process. Wellness Counseling can help to balance the nervous system and improve energy flow. Decreasing maternal stress and facilitating a sense of grounding are both central to this counseling practice. All of these are essential to
a healthy attachment between mother and child.
Traumatic Birth
Birth trauma is any physical or emotional trauma that occurs during or after birth. Often there is a lack of being understood, along with no choices during the birth process. This event can often cause Postpartum depression, anxiety, and/or intrusive thinking.
Grief and Intrauterine Loss
Wellness Counseling can help with the emotional impact of a pregnancy loss, which often takes longer to heal than even the physical disruption. Taking care of yourself during this time is important in order to move through the intense and sometimes overwhelming feelings that will occur.

Frequently, the hormonal imbalances will exacerbate these feelings and the period of mourning may last longer than expected. Focusing on grounding as a you move through each stage of the mourning process is an important goal in the healing of this loss and is a focus of Wellness Counseling.

Understanding yourself and your child in order to best develop a healthy reciprocity between you is a focal point
of wellness counseling. There will be times when mothering becomes stressful or even complicated. These signals are important so that you can secure the support and education necessary to continue nurturing yourself and your child in the most optimal way.

Talking about issues in order to more fully understand your thought process can be useful to help shift perspective and create new ways of thinking. Taking can also help to change patterns of behavior and communication with loved ones.

Understanding and moving through stages of grief is painful. Sitting with you and being a witness to your process will help you (and your partner) to feel comfort and understanding. Often, writing during sessions and at home will be encouraged as one way to stay present with your grief.

The creative process can be insightful for many clients. Robin utilizes different forms of visual arts, writing, and body movement to deepen your level of insight.
